Singular and Plural Verbs

In the present tense, if the subject (Third-person nouns and pronouns) is singular; the verb should also be in Singular form, whereas a Plural subject takes a Plural verb.

  • She goes to school.

In this sentence, the subject is “She” and it is a third-person singular subject.

*Therefore, the verb also takes its singular form by adding “es”.

In this sentence, the subject is “They” and it is a third-person plural subject.

  • Some verbs make their singular form by adding “s” at the end of the verb.
