Disclaimer

Learn English for Life publishes free lessons, word lists and practice quizzes for people learning English. Please read this disclaimer before you rely on them.

Educational information only

Our content explains common rules and usage in standard British English, with notes on American English where it differs. Real language has exceptions and regional differences. For exams, work or legal documents, check with a qualified teacher or an official reference.

Levels and scores

The A1 to C1 levels on our lessons follow the general descriptions of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). They are our own estimates, not an official assessment. Quiz scores are for practice only.
