Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Learn English for Life collects when you use https://learnenglish4life.com, why we collect it and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can. You can read every lesson without creating an account.

Who we are

Learn English for Life is a free English learning website. You can contact us about privacy at info@learnenglish4life.com.

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. We use them only to reply to you.
• Newsletter: your email address and your consent. We use them only to send the weekly lesson email.
• Advertising enquiries: your name, email, organisation, website and message, used only to discuss advertising with you.
• Comments: if comments are open on a lesson, the name, email and text you submit. Your email is never shown publicly.

Forms are handled by Gravity Forms on our own server. Messages are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Spam protection

We use Akismet to check comments and form messages for spam. Akismet receives the content you submit, your IP address and your browser details. You can read the Automattic privacy policy. Our forms also contain a hidden field that stops automated spam without tracking you.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense so the lessons can stay free. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Ads load only when you scroll near them and never inside quizzes.

Information stored on your device

Some features keep small notes in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot see them:

• your best score in each practice quiz,
• lessons you saved or opened, so the reading path can show ticks,
• your light or dark mode choice,
• your progress in the daily word game.

You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Anonymous statistics

When you finish a quiz or vote in a poll, we add one to a counter (for example “120 attempts, average score 74%”). We do not store who answered. Your IP address is used only for a few seconds to stop the same vote being counted twice and is not saved.

Server logs and fonts

Our hosting company keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, date and browser) for security, for a short period. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so loading a page does not send your data to a font service.

Links to other websites

Lessons link to trusted reference sites such as the Cambridge Dictionary and the British Council. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Our lessons are suitable for learners of all ages, but the site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent and think your child has sent us personal details, email us and we will delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it. Email info@learnenglish4life.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our services change. The date at the top shows the last update.
